Freemasons ofWepre Lodge No. 6055 Raise £1500.00for Alzheimer’s Research UK

Freemasons of Wepre Lodge No. 6055, together with Brethren of other Lodges in Farfield Hall, Connah’s Quay, have raised the magnificent sum of £1500.00 in just three months of fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Research charity. Alzheimer’s Research UK is the United Kingdom’s leading dementia research charity, founded in 1992 as the Alzheimer’s Research Trust.

The latest figures reveal that Dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, has overtaken heart disease as the leading cause of death in England and Wales. As an aging population, we are now all too aware of a family member, neighbour or friend who suffers from this diabolical and debilitating disease.

The money was raised at several events over the last three months including Ferret Racing, Quiz Nights and Bingo as well as Raffles. All the money raised came directly out of Freemasons’ own pockets. Members of Freemasonry, which is a very vibrant organisation, have always taken particular pride in showing and giving, their support to the local and general community at large.

Should you be aware of a Local Charity which might benefit from Freemasons’ assistance by fundraising, or should you be interested in joining this outstanding organisation, please contact our Charity Steward at the following address,
