Square & Compass Present Over £10,000 to 2017 Festival

Established in 1871, Square & Compass have a very proud history, based in Wrexham, North Wales.

The R.W. Provincial Grand Master, Bro Ieuan Redvers Jones visited Square & Compass Lodge No. 1336 on Tuesday 6 September with the North Wales Provincial Team.

The ceremony was a second-degree ceremony, with the candidate Bro Gareth Overthrow representing four generations of family commitment to the lodge.

During the visit, WM Myles Taylor presented The R.W. PGM with a cheque from the lodge for £2,017 towards the 2017 Festival.

This was later added to by £465 raised in the raffle at the Festive Board.

W.Bro Paul Maddocks, IPM, then presented a cheque for £10,000 from a Charity Ball hosted at Carden Park.

Paul said, “It was a pleasure to host an event in aid of The 2017 Festival & a real privilege to personally hand the £10,000 cheque over to The R.W. PGM.

I must thank W.Bro Phil James, Prov Grand Charity Steward for his help & support at Carden Park and indeed all the brethren who attended the event for their generous support.”

Over 90 guests attended the subsequent festive board at The Maesgwyn, Mold Road, Wrexham.

Everyone enjoyed a great evening with The 2017 Festival benefitting with a total of £12,482.
