Royal Denbigh Chapter Celebrates 25 Years of the Holy Royal Arch

On Monday 20th April, the Royal Denbigh Chapter No. 1143, enjoyed a special convocation which coincided with the Installation of the three Principals as it celebrated its 25th Anniversary. The occasion having received a dispensation welcomed both the Deputy Grand Superintendent, Comp. Allan E Powell, PGSwdB and the 2nd Provincial Grand Principal, Comp. Wynford O. Davies, PGStB. Also in attendance was the PastDepGSupt. E. Comp Bryan Lewis, PGSwdB, and two past 2nd Grand Principals, viz. E. Comp. J. E. T. Williams, PGStB and founding member and the first Principal of the Chapter, E. Comp. Anthony Jefferies, PAGSoj., together with a number of guests.

It was indeed a joyous occasion and all witnessed an excellent ceremony, followed by a most entertaining, informative and entertaining address from the Deputy Grand Superintendent. To conclude the meeting, a ‘ceremonial arch’ was unveiled having been specially constructed for the occasion by E. Comp. J. E. T. Williams, PGStB. Photographs were also arranged to record the meeting of the present members and of the remaining founders.

The Festive Board provided a fitting conclusion to the evening, where all present were presented with a ‘coaster’ depicting the crest of the Chapter and a booklet recording the history of the Chapter compiled by the Scribe E, E. Comp. Eric G Howells, ProvGTreas. Amongst anniversaries this 25th is a small but important first step in the history of this the Royal Denbigh Chapter and marks the firm foundation established by the Founders. The remaining 5 founder members and its other 26 members now look forward with confidence to the next 25 years.
