Privacy Policy
The Province of North Wales (‘the Province’) administers Freemasons’ Lodges and Royal Arch Chapters within the territorial area of the Province, subject to the overall governance of The United Grand Lodge of England and of The Supreme Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of England. The Province is committed to protecting the privacy of its Lodges and Chapters and their respective members in accordance with the principles of the Data Protection Act 1998. This policy explains how the Province will do this.
What information does the Province collect?
The Province collects, and retains in electronic and paper form, membership and financial information which is required to enable the Province to carry out its administrative and operational obligations, including:
- The names, addresses, occupations, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers and other personal information of present and past, Lodge and Chapter members.
- Financial records of present and past Lodge and Chapter members, including details of their individual dues and subscriptions and of donations to charitable organisations administered by the Province.
- Details of the Lodges and Chapters, their members and officers.
- Financial records of the Lodges and Chapters, including their annual accounts, details of dues and subscriptions and of donations to charitable organisations administered by the Province.
How does the Province use the information?
The Province uses the information it records to establish and manage members’ and Lodges’ and Chapters’ membership records and records of charitable donations. The Province also uses that information when communicating with members or Lodges and Chapters.
When does the Province share information?
The Province does not sell information to others. The Province may share information with the United Grand Lodge of England, with Supreme Grand Chapter and with the charitable institutions to which members’ and Lodge or Chapter contributions are donated.
Security
The Province keeps the information confidential. It maintains a secure internal filing system which is only accessed and used by individuals who are employed by the Province, including individuals employed on a voluntary basis.
Updating your details
If any of the information that you have provided to the Province changes (for example if you change your address), please let the Province know by sending an e-mail to the Provincial Grand Secretary at office@nwmasons.org or by sending a letter to him at 8 Mostyn Avenue, Craig-y-Don, Llandudno LL0 1YS.
Your consent
By submitting information to the Province (whether by individuals directly or through officers of Lodges and Chapters), members, Lodges and Chapters consent to the use of that information as set out in this policy. If the policy changes, any changes will be posted on the Province’s website, www.nwmasons.org.
