Coleshill Lodge £1300 Donation to North Wales Superkids

At their meeting on Wednesday, November 22nd the Freemasons of Coleshill Lodge presented a cheque for over a thousand pounds to the “North Wales Superkids” charity. Martyn Johnston said “When I was the Master of our Lodge last year I asked members to suggest a local charity for my year of office. When I heard how North Wales Superkids supports children in care and other disadvantaged children, especially at Christmas, I was very moved. I knew we had to give them our support.”

Coleshill Lodge members donated their own money and supported several internal Masonic social events. They also sponsored Martyn during his year of office. After a warm welcome, the founder of North Wales Superkids, Margaret Williams MBE accepted the cheque from Martyn on behalf of the charity. Margaret then addressed the lodge members. She said “Christmas Day is the most important day in any youngsters’ diary. Sadly, for many this year, for a wide variety of reasons, this will not happen, so thank you all for helping us turn their tears into smiles when they open their presents on Christmas morning, to find in fact that the ‘man in red’ has managed to call.” One of the lodge members was so moved by Margaret’s words that he immediately made out a personal cheque and brought the total up to £1300.

After the presentation, Margaret said “I’m so excited about this wonderful donation. We support the forgotten children who get so little at the important times like their birthdays, Easter and Christmas. Coleshill members’ generosity will give some of these children a little bit of light in their lives.”
